WHERE ARE THE COURSES HELD?

Longford Academy courses are held at the historic Brickendon and Woolmers Estates, which tell some of Australia’s convict history and together form part of the Australian Convict Sites World Heritage Property. They are located on the outskirts of Longford in northern Tasmania, approximately 20 minutes from Launceston and similarly close to Launceston Airport.

WHAT DO THE COURSES COST?

Course fees are charged to cover program development and delivery costs, lunches and morning and afternoon teas. Travel and accommodation costs are not included. As a guide to future costs, the 2026 Summer School cost $3,000 and the Autumn course cost $1,700.

WHAT IS INCLUDED?

Course notes and materials are included, as well as morning and afternoon teas and lunches. Six dinners are provided at the Summer School and two at the Autumn Course.

WHERE DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR ACCOMMODATION?

LA is grateful to Brickendon Estate and Woolmers Estate for their ongoing support of our programs, and in return we encourage participants to use their on-site accommodation. Longford Academy staff stay at the properties and are always comfortable. Additional accommodation is available in Longford and the surrounding district.

For those wanting extra comfort we recommend The Racecourse Inn at Longford.

WHAT ABOUT TRANSPORT?

Launceston Airport is twenty minutes away. Jetstar and Virgin fly direct to/from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Qantas fly direct to/from Melbourne. Hire cars are available at Launceston Airport. Participants are encouraged to share cars.

DOES THE COURSE COUNT TOWARDS CDP POINTS?

CPD points may be available for credit through your registration body or industry association.
